Paul Glazier
Paul is a sport scientist at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. He specialises in the biomechanics and motor control of human movement, specifically techniques used by athletes in sports and exercise. He has co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications in the areas of cricket and golf and has provided scientific support to numerous professional athletes, sports teams and sporting organisations.
Paul is currently undertaking a PhD on the application of non-linear dynamics to the analysis of human movement, the functional role of motor variability and its implications for performance and injury. Paul has acted as an expert peer-reviewer for numerous academic journals and currently serves on the Editorial Board of the Annual Review of Golf Coaching.
Paul is also a long drive professional on the Long Drivers of Europe (LDE) European Long Drive tour. He had four top-three finishes last season—his first as a professional—including his maiden victory at the RE/MAX Long Drive Championship of Italy, which he won with a drive of 372 yards. He finished the season in third place on the LDE Order of Merit, was voted LDE Rookie of the Year by his peers, and qualified for the 2007 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship Finals held in Mesquite, NV, in October.
