Public SpeakingWorkshop:

(Presented by Thomas Plummer and Dr. Greg Rose)

The fear of public speaking is for many people the biggest fear in their lives and is often scarier than death, divorce or even getting fired. Presentations, meaning the ability to sell yourself and your ideas are, however, a vital part of almost every job and are an integral part of your personal life. Success often comes down to the one who has the best ability simply to present yourself and your ideas clearly to others. This ability to speak in front of others has to be mastered if you want to drive your career and your life to a higher level of success.

Presenting information to clients, asking for a raise or presenting your ideas to your boss, and even offering your choice for the family vacation all are different forms of giving a presentation and all affect the money you make in your job and the satisfaction you gain from your personal life.

Being a better speaker and presenter can be learned and you can learn to be more effective in a very short period of time with a minimum of training and pain. This seminar will give a complete introduction to making presentations and developing yourself as a speaker. Most fear comes from not having a plan or fear of the unknown and you will leave this 2-day seminar with solid skills and experience as to how to make a powerful presentation.

The first morning of the seminar will breakdown the basics of speaking. After that, the rest of the two days will be spent practicing a variety of techniques and games designed to identify your personal style and to prepare you with a set plan for preparing for any type of presentation you may face in your job or personal life. You will also leave with personal DVD of your games and exercises from the seminar you can use at home as a study tool.

Learning to speak with a coach in a small class setting is often the safest and most gentle way to get speaking experience and is recommended for anyone who harbors a personal fear of presenting in front of others. This class will take you through the basic skills and then through a series of games that build awareness and confidence. Everyone in the class is someone who is nervous but has the need to move past that fear into making successful presentations as part of their daily life. If you've always wanted to learn to present yourself and your business more professionally but didn't know where to start or were too afraid, then this seminar is for you.

The actual seminar will begin on Saturday, March 15 at 9:00 a.m.
Please be at the seminar room by 8:30.
The seminar will conclude on the first day at 5:00 p.m. followed by an excursion to a local bar to meet and greet your fellow participants.
The seminar will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday and will conclude at 4:00 p.m.
