Randy Myers
Randy Myers is the current director of fitness for Sea Island Resorts. Randy Myers was the director of fitness and personal training at PGA National Resort & Spa from 1992 to June 2005. During that time, the facility has accumulated numerous industry awards, including "Best Resort Fitness Center." PGA National's Health and Racquet club has also received two "Nova 7" awards for excellence in facility design and exercise programming.
In May of 1992, Myers completed his Masters degree in Leisure Studies at the Pennsylvania State University. His thesis topic, "A strength training and flexibility program for recreational golfers," helped establish the standards for golf exercise conditioning. Myers has created golf specific exercise programs for thousands of golfers, and in May 1999 was named "Golf's Top Fitness Trainer," by Golf Digest Magazine.
An educator for the PGA of America, fitness consultant to the Golden Bear Tour and staff writer for Fore Florida, Myers' articles have been featured in Sports Illustrated Magazine, Golf for Women, Men's Health, Elle, Teen and Fitness Magazine. Although he works closely with over one hundred PGA, LPGA and Senior PGA tour players, the majority of his experience is in training amateur golfers in the fundamentals of weight training flexibility.
