How Tour Pros Prepare For A Round
Fri Nov 1, 2013 by Ben Salisbury
The PGA Tour has recently begun sharing an inside look at the pre-round routine of top players (including stars Jordan and Rickie). They showcase the order of their routine, highlight various swing aids and even count the swings per club. PGA Tour does a tremendous job with content and, while these features are interesting and instructive, they don't give you a complete picture of a PGA Tour warm-up. The reality is that the most important prep happens before the athlete touches a club.
Tiger's comment from earlier this year about needing to activate his glutes at Torrey Pines sent the Twitterverse into hysteria, but it's a pre-round staple for all these guys. http://www.mytpi.com/exercises#filter?area=all&page=1&search=deadlift
The PGA Tour does a tremendous job with content and, while these features are interesting and instructive, they don't give you a complete picture of a PGA Tour warm-up. We would argue that every single player on Tour has a routine to prepare their body before they hit the range.
