I am a Chartered and State Registered Physiotherapist with a special interest in sports injuries. I have always been passionate about how the body works and what we, as physiotherapists, can do to put it back together when things go wrong.
My philosophy is to help my patients to help themselves achieve a pain free, active lifestyle through pain relief, improved mobility, exercise and education. Consequently my strapline is "It's a Joint Process!" - my patients are actively involved in their own recovery.
Being a keen and competitive sportswoman I understand the frustration of my patients when injury or pain prevents them pursuing their chosen activity.
When I was learning to play golf myself, my coach and I would discuss how physical limitations can affect a golfer's swing. Knowing that I was a physio he would ask my advice on how he could help overcome certain restrictions. I decided to become TPI certified myself so that I could advise with more authority and work more closely with golf professionals. I am still hoping that my knowledge will improve my own golf!
