Junior Level 3 Certification

The Level 3 Junior Certification is a two day, fun packed, hands-on learning experience. It is now time to learn how to set-up and operate each of the TPI junior schools that were taught in Level 2 Junior. You will learn how to set up each of the 12 Cyclones, 12 SMASH Zones, 12 Wave Schools and how to implement the EDP (Elite Development Program). Including the Pre-EDP class, the EDP Bootcamp and all three EDP Schools (1,2 and 3). The class includes a full color manual with over 200 pages of a detailed information. Get personalized instruction from some of the best in the junior golf business. PGA of Australia professional Denis McDade, junior conditioning expert Milo Bryant are all your main hosts for these two days. Combined, they have over 50 years of experience in developing, training and treating some of the best junior golfers in the world. Special guest (depending on availability and location) includes Dr. Ernst Zwick.

CLASS OUTLINE

Curriculum Overview

Denis McDade will review the entire 13 year TPI Junior Curriculum to start the class. Some of the key points on how to set-up and operate the entire program will be covered in detail.

Fundamentals Phase

The first three years of our junior program use a school called the Cyclone. You will learn how to set up each Cyclone station, orient kids to each activity, progress kids through the Cyclone and how to vary the Cyclone from years 1-3. Golf instruction themes for each month will also be covered. The business of how to operate the Cyclone and typical medical challenges seen during this phase will also be covered.

Play Phase

Years 4-6 of our junior program use a school called the SMASH. You will learn how to set up each SMASH station, orient kids to each activity, progress kids through the SMASH and how to vary the SMASH from years 4-6. We will continue to expand on our golf instruction themes and practice applications. The business of how to operate the SMASH and typical medical challenges seen during this phase will also be covered.

Train Phase

Years 7-9 of our junior program use a school called the Wave. You will learn how to set up each Wave station, orient kids to each activity, progress kids through the Wave and how to vary the Wave from years 7-9. Advanced golf instruction from tournament preparation to course management will also be covered during this time. The business of how to operate the Wave and typical medical challenges seen during this phase will also be covered.

Elite Phase

The final junior golf school is intended for kids between the ages of 14 and 17 years (developmental age). This program, referred to as the Elite Development Program (EDP), will be covered in detail. We will set-up and demonstrate a typical Pre-EDP class, Boot Camp, and EDP class. Some discussions about preparing for college will also be discussed.

Screening Juniors

Lastly, each participant must be able to screen the kids and determine their level of proficiency. We will demonstrate how to set up the testing equipment and run multiple kids through the testing at one time.

PGA Members may claim a total of 24 MSR “Required Education” credits. A Certificate of Completion must accompany any application for MSR Credits.

PGA Professionals (Great Britain & Ireland) will be credited with 85 CPD points as part of the PGA’s Member Education Programme (75 CPD points for the seminar and 10 CPD points for successfully passing the test). A Certificate of Completion and confirmation of assessment must accompany any application for CPD points.

JUNIOR 3 CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be TPI Level 1 Certified and Junior 2 Certified
  • Must successfully pass the Junior 3 examination
