The golf professional is the head of the food chain when it comes to golf performance. You hold the most precious element in the business of golf. The student! This is a big responsibility. The student trusts you with their performance. They trust you with advice on what equipment to buy, whether they should change their grip, go for it in 2 or lay up on the par 5. Your job is to educate yourself and acquire the tools needed to provide them the best service possible.

Today's game requires more than a silky smooth swing with a balanced finish. Your clients want power! The modern golfer sees golf not as a past time but more of a lifestyle. That lifestyle includes health and wellness. Golf, fitness, nutrition and community are top considerations when a student decides to invest in the game of golf. The golf professional's job is to cater to their needs and create an environment where they can enjoy all the positive aspects of this great game. The best way to do this is to surround yourself with a team of passionate, like minded professionals that can bring elements outside of your scope to the team. You can't wear all the hats! Be the best golf pro possible and build a team around you to do the the rest.

Adding a fitness component to your programming may seem like a daunting task. You may picture a huge investment, board meetings, budget approvals, managing staff and buying equipment. It doesn't have to be that way. In fact, it can be as simple as lacing up your sneakers and taking your first step toward your own personal fitness. Many golf pros have successfully integrated fitness coaches and existing programs from their community fitness leaders into their golf coaching model with little to no cost of their own. Bringing a fitness consultant to your course to teach a class or sending your students to a satellite facility could be the perfect fit. For others you may be interested in creating a full performance studio with in-house fitness, 3D motion capture, force plates and launch monitors.

In this video Coach Glass provides you with 3 fitness options that you can integrate into your current programming. Jason also shares his insight and personal experience from building his own performance studio from the ground up! It is all about building a community that believes in being fit and being healthy. There is no better way than leading by example and as the head of the food chain, you are the perfect person for the job!
