The US Open is at Merion Golf Club this week and even though it may be one of the shortest golf courses to host a US Open of late, don't let it fool you. It is worthy of a major championship and has hosted many USGA events in its past. Steeped in history this is one of my favorite golf courses. The last three major champions at Merion were Ben Hogan, Lee Trevino and Australian David Graham. Those three golfers ended their careers with a combined 195 wins. These were great ball strikers - and that's what will be needed at Merion this week.
