Benjamin Miers

I am a licensed physical therapist, with a doctor of physical therapy, who has a dedication and passion for the game of golf. Throughout my career, I have had a strong focus on manual therapy including thrust manipulation and non-thrust mobilization techniques. After improving tissue mobility or joint mobility dysfunctions, I work to improve motor patterns and clients' understanding of how to best optimize their body's mechanics and efficiency through neuromuscular re-education. My goal has been to integrate evidence based knowledge gained from the clinic to the golf course. I have been working heavily with PGA Tour professionals on the Pepsi and Adams Pro Tour, players in the NHL, MLB, and European Basketball League. In addition, I am currently working with Illinois Juniors ranked in the Top 100, and Top Nationwide in their age division. My efforts are aimed at improving functional development and proprioception needed for object manipulation, stability, locomotion, balance, and somatosensory input. During sessions, I incorporate the K-Coach 3D motion system to help players gain biofeedback; and understand how to engage their musculature to target key body movements during the swing. These elements will enhance distance, shot accuracy, and consistency. Through following my instruction and guidance, I will help one to recognize their physical limitations, assist in reducing injury, improve performance, and rekindle a true joy of the game.
